Fringe Festival

The Edinburgh Fringe Festival is the largest arts festival in the world and each year thousands of performers flock to the city and put on over 2000 shows in 250 venues across the city. The award-winning shows, fantastic performers and amazing venues make the festival unique and incredibly successful.

You are absolutely spoilt for choice at the festival - with theatre, dance and comedy displays present at a total of 31,000 performances, there is something for everyone at this festival. The festival was established in 1947 as an alternative to the 'high arts' of the Edinburgh International Festival and has continued to grow each year. Recently there has been an increase in drama performances, however comedy, dance and music are all still heavily featured.

The fringe festival 2012 takes place from the 3rd August - 27th August and is sure to be another spectacular event.
