The New Town Residence is a magnificent apartment. My whole family were very impressed. It is so spacious (the kitchen/diner and lounge are enormous), clean and fitted out to a very high standard. The owner was very accommodating with us and our arrival/departure times and she has catered for virtually every need (hair straightener mats and wi-fi included!). The Welcome Hamper and Christmas decorations (we visited in December) were the icing on the cake. The apartment is a short 10 minute walk to Waverley Station and Princes St so it is perfect for exploring the city by foot. I would advise any light sleepers to bring ear plugs since 2 of the bedrooms are situated next to a main road but please do not let that put you off. It certainly didn’t affect our stay at all as the beds are so comfortable they help you to drift off into a deep sleep. I will be recommending the New Town Residence to anyone visiting Edinburgh as it is such good value compared with a hotel, especially if there are 8 of you. 10/10

This place is FABULOUS! The owner is quite accommodating to unique circumstances. For a group of adults this is the way to go (we are a family with grown children, some of whom are married). There is room for privacy as well as room for many to be together. It has everything! It is close to Waverly station, malls, restaurants, sights... The owner has thought of every contingency and everything is there for your convenience. The beds are luxurious as are the towels. When you walk in it is so calming. The downside to this is that we were not as motivated to get out and see the sights as we should have since that is what we came to do. The reason we chose to go here rather than other places we researched was that there are 3 bedrooms as well as 3 bathrooms, it has a convenient location, it is priced right, and it is so tastefully decorated it just seems to be head and shoulders above the others I researched. As my first experience renting an apartment rather than going to a hotel, I feel that this is the best I could have had and the bar has been set very high for others I will choose.
