A peaceful walled garden with a collection of old-fashioned roses and fine herbaceous borders. Special features are the 400 year old clipped yew trees and National Bonsai collection. House not open to the public. Notable for large numbers of scented plants in high summer including roses, lavender, Philadelphus, Clematis and many herbs. Interesting geometric design of herb and vegetable garden, much admired by garden designers; planted in potager style with flowers and vegetables intermixed. Organic methods of cultivation employed. Large Victorian greenhouse with summer display of scented-leaved Pelargoniums, Fuchsia, Heliotrope. Seating provided.
