The first batch of Scotsman Fringe Firsts has been awarded. These prestigious awards help visitors narrow down a handful of the best shows to visit out of the many thousands taking place each August in the Edinburgh Fringe. This year's winners are: Orphans at the Traverse, Internal, Traverse @ Mercure Point Hotel, Found at Dance Base, The Event, Assembly @ George Street, East 10th Street at the Traverse, Crush at the Underbelly, The Unravelling, The Space @ Venue 45. Unlike the 'star' ratings used in some media, which many people complain are awarded to shows without real merit, Fringe First awards are considered to carry meaning and are a useful guide for helping you decide which shows are worth seeing. No surprises to see no fewer than three shows from the Traverse winning Fringe Firsts. The theatre has a long-standing and well-deserved reputation for producing excellence. |
