We spent our Christmas holiday at the apartment and loved it. The owner was very accomodating and even stored our luggage on the first day while the apartment was being cleaned. The location is central to all the sights in Edinburgh. In fact, the farmer's market is right around the corner from the apartment and once you step out you get to see the Edinburgh castle. We also enjoyed just hanging out in the apartment and making meals there in the well equipped kichen. We had not been to Edinburgh before and the owner was so helpful and responsive prior to our arrival and during our trip. We had a great time and highly recommend the apartment on Spittal street.

Spittal Street is a very lovely apartment on the second floor, quite a few steps to get to the flat so not good for people with disabilities. It is well decorated, very clean and an excellent place to stay. Its has everything you need for a very comfortable stay. Kitchen has everything you need and all bedding and towels are provided. Very easy to get to Princess Street or the castle, you can walk to both or jump on a bus. Parking at the local car park is £19.50 for 24 hours and is walking distance to the flat. There is a sainsburys just at the end of the road, Bread street end as the castle is at the other. Would book this apartment again for a holiday.

Had a great stay here in a very well equipped apartment. Room sizes were good and it was easy to find and we received a good personal welcome. We travelled by train and it was a very easy walk from Haymarket. Hallway and stairs slightly offputting unless familiar with tenement buildings - much cleaner inside! Well situated and easy walking to Royal Mile etc, and good bus routes nearby. Can see Castle from windows! Would definitely stay again.

Property Manager Response (18 Apr 2011):

Stairwell now receives a good regular clean!!

This is a lovely cozy apartment that has everything you need. And by cozy I don't mean cramped at all - the bedrooms are both nice and spacious. It's in a great location - just around the corner from the Castle Terrace Saturday farmers' market, 5 minute walk from the pubs and restaurants of Grassmarket, there's a Sainsbury's local round the corner which is handy, Princes Street gardens, Edinburgh Castle and Royal Mile are all 5-10 min walk away... the list goes on. Ideal location during festival time as I noticed a few theatres close by too. It's clean, well decorated and all modern kitchen and bathroom etc, with lush big windows that all open so it was never stuffy. We had a really great stay here and would definitely recommend it! The only thing that proved a little tricky was parking - there's pay and display nearby but it's only free on Sundays I think. But Waverley station isn't far at all, and there's great bus services to the end of the road and once you're there everything is in easy walking distance. We made it down to Holyrood and Arthur's seat in half an hour at ambling speed and that looked like it was miles away on the map!

Property Manager Response (30 Mar 2011):

Just to mention that there is a large car park 300 yards away which has reasonable rates for long term parking. Edinburgh is also serviced by a fantastic Park and Ride on the outskirts of town.
