Absolutely gorgeous house in a lovely village.
We had a weekend away with some girl friends and the house made it perfect. There was enough room for everyone and enjoyed sitting out in the garden with the patio doors open.
Really close to Edinburgh without the noise of the city. I would recommend a visit to the Sheep Heid which does some really good food.
Only issue was the bins hadn't been emptied and but the time we left they were over flowing.
Overall fantastic weekend break thank you
We used this excellent venue as the multi-generational family base for our daughter's wedding at The Hub. Superb location for views, for city centre accessibility and walks in Holyrood Park. Beautiful architect designed interior and extensions. Spacious, modern, airy, light and warm. Lovely dining area with large table. Lots of electrical and techno gadgets. Great showers and bathrooms with abundant hot water. Good access for disabled visitors although downstairs bathroom has shower over bath which might be a limitation if upstairs walk in showers could not be accessed. Pleasant garden areas with easy access and outside lighting at the rear. Outside lighting problem fixed within hours of notifying agent. Keysafe access perfect for uncertain time of arrival but difficult to locate in darkness with no automatic outside lights.
Niggles: Quality of some furnishings does not match up with high end design of building. Downstairs bedroom is lit up at night by passing cars because of blind only and lack of curtains/shutters. Shutters only at windows in most rooms - limits daylight for privacy when dressing/undressing in bedrooms/bathrooms. Kitchen worksurface very limited for preparing food for large group. Can't use ensuite bathrooms during night without flooding bedroom with light and turning fans on. An extra inclusive set of towels, bin bags and toilet rolls would be useful. No furniture other than beds and bedside tables upstairs - chairs and small tables would be useful. Only one full length mirror available.
All in all an excellent stay was enjoyed by all.
Fantastic location. Lovely house but needs to be checked for minor defects before arrival of guests. Also no coat hanging space and cooker so complicated it takes a few days to get the hang of it.
Nevertheless, fabulous time had by all. Thank you.
Beautiful, spacious house in a quiet location a couple of miles from the city centre.
Loved the enclosed garden and lounge with huge glass doors.
With Holyrood Park almost on the doorstep and Scotland's oldest inn just round the corner, what else would you need from a place to stay?
We'd certainly stay here again.
Our stay in the Edinburgh area was great and the house was much more than we expected.
The house was in a very quiet part of town and the gardens across the street were a real bonus.
The location was great and only an hour walk to the center of town (driving into the old part of town not recommended, especially if you are not accustomed to traffic circles).
We would definitely consider renting the house again the next time we are in Scotland.
Property Manager Response (23 Jun 2009):
Hi Steve,
Thanks for your review, would it be fair to say that an hour to walk into the centre ...would be at a very leisurely pace?
The gardens refered to are Dr Neils's gardens which are 100m from the houses front door-Edinburgh's best kept secret ;-)
Cheers Craig
Absolutely fantastic accommodation in a beautiful and quiet part of Edinburgh. The sun room and garden were great for sitting out and chilling with wine during the day and the evening. The children loved the garden and all the space for running around in - plus they made the most of the decking catwalk! It was really easy to stroll into Edinburgh along the beautiful paths under Arthur's Seat. Craig's hospitality was superb. I would thoroughly recommend the accommodation to anybody who is staying in Edinburgh.

Very good value. A beautiful house which is extremely well- appointed. The conversion has been really well done without losing the character of the house. It was very comfortable, light and bright and was ideal for us as our daughter was getting married at the Kirk opposite. The service provided [from The Edinburgh Address] was excellent - friendly and helpful throughout. The first positive point was that you kept your promise to notify us when rental dates on the property we wanted were released, and every query we had was answered promptly.

The house is beautiful with an amazing aspect of Arthur's Seat. Decor and attention to detail very impressive. Ideally situated for making the most of all Edinburgh has to offer. Cannot fault [the service from The Edinburgh Address], efficient and quick to respond to all enquiries.

The accommodation was perfect for our family, there were 9 adults and an 18 month old and we stayed for a week. We had more than enough room, with the bedrooms upstairs having en suites it didn't feel like everybody was on top of each other. The closed off garden is a perfect place for children to play and more than big enough for the family to have a very enjoyable BBQ. The house is in a beautiful area and provides a really enjoyable walk through Holyrood Park to the Royal Mile (approx 20mins). The pub around the corner from the property has a fabulous restaurant with a lovely bit of history attached to it (being the first ever public house opened in Scotland). We had a fantastic holiday and are already looking at booking again. The property is beautiful and in a fantastic location. Has everything you could think a real home from home. I have had a fantastic service from The Edinburgh Address from start to finish. A lot of it was done via email as the holiday was booked as a surprise but any questions were answered promptly and Erin was very helpful throughout. I did inquire if the property had a BBQ but I was told unfortunately not. However to my surprise on our arrival sure enough there was a little BBQ in the back garden, either way thank you. And thank you for a wonderful holiday.

"The house is stunning. There were 8 of us in total as part of a wedding party and there was plenty of space for 4 adults and 4 children. The house is very well equipped, with sufficient crockery & cutlery etc for a large number of guests. The large dining area and equally large living room made it very relaxed. Property was clean, beds were comfy with plenty of linen and towels provided. Free unlimited on-street parking directly outside. Also, the use of free wi-fi was great as we had taken a laptop and could check the weather, things to do, plan routes etc. The house is in a great location and climbing Arthurs Seat proved a good way of allowing the children to let off steam. The house is a gentle 30-minute walk into Edinburgh. Would definitely stay here again if we were travelling in a large party - highly recommended for 2 families.
Nice easy access to the property by means of the keysafe - great idea when you're not sure what time you will arrive."
