We used this excellent venue as the multi-generational family base for our daughter's wedding at The Hub. Superb location for views, for city centre accessibility and walks in Holyrood Park. Beautiful architect designed interior and extensions. Spacious, modern, airy, light and warm. Lovely dining area with large table. Lots of electrical and techno gadgets. Great showers and bathrooms with abundant hot water. Good access for disabled visitors although downstairs bathroom has shower over bath which might be a limitation if upstairs walk in showers could not be accessed. Pleasant garden areas with easy access and outside lighting at the rear. Outside lighting problem fixed within hours of notifying agent. Keysafe access perfect for uncertain time of arrival but difficult to locate in darkness with no automatic outside lights.
Niggles: Quality of some furnishings does not match up with high end design of building. Downstairs bedroom is lit up at night by passing cars because of blind only and lack of curtains/shutters. Shutters only at windows in most rooms - limits daylight for privacy when dressing/undressing in bedrooms/bathrooms. Kitchen worksurface very limited for preparing food for large group. Can't use ensuite bathrooms during night without flooding bedroom with light and turning fans on. An extra inclusive set of towels, bin bags and toilet rolls would be useful. No furniture other than beds and bedside tables upstairs - chairs and small tables would be useful. Only one full length mirror available.
All in all an excellent stay was enjoyed by all.
