TV Festival

The Edinburgh TV Festival was founded in 1976, and since then has been held annually over the bank holiday weekend in August. The festival is attended by many involved in the industry - including prominent figures, who debate the key issues surrounding the profession.

The festival shapes the evolution of the industry, inviting many to share their expertise with others in the form of masterclasses, preview screenings, lectures and networking parties. The festival is crammed full of over 50 individual sessions that cover many of the issues that face the industry. It also prides itself on being a fun and sociable event, dedicated to finding new talent. Over 1,900 delegates attend the festival - from new media companies to directors and producers.

One of the most popular events of the weekend is the keynote speech, most recently given by Jeremy Paxman. Past addresses have been given by a wide variety of interesting and powerful industry figures - including Rupert Murdoch, John Humphreys and Dennis Potter.

The Internationl TV Festival 2008 (taking place between the 22nd and 24th of August) promises to be the best festival yet, so get looking for your Edinburgh TV Festival Accommodation as soon as possible - Edinburgh is very busy at this time of year, meaning that accommodation can be hard to come by.
