Edinburgh Art Fesitval

The Edinburgh Art Festival , which takes place in the summer, brings together a wide range of events, activities and visual exhibitions. The festival highlights the importance of the visual arts to Edinburgh and its creative community.

Over the years that the festival has been running, many galleries, museums and individuals have contributed to the success of the festival -  bringing the exhibitions and displays that are already happening in Edinburgh's galleries out into the mainstream where more people can enjoy them. The 2007 festival featured the largest programme of events ever, with even more venues and artists being involved right across the city. There were two large Picasso exhibitions and a showcase of work from world famous Andy Warhol.

The Edinburgh Arts Festival 2008 will continue the affliation between galleries, artist groups and institutions to celebrate the wealth of art present in Edinburgh - attracting both art savvy spectators and those looking to find out more about the art scene present in Edinburgh.

Edinburgh Art Festival accommodation can be hard to come by as Edinburgh is a very popular destination in the summer. Book early and make sure you have enough time in Edinburgh to see as much of the festival as you can.
