Ceilidh Culture

Ceilidh Culture is Edinburgh annual showcase of traditional arts, held in the spring of each year. Not only does it showcase the best of home-grown talent, but it also hosts acts from across the world, with local performers as well as international stars from all sectors of the traditional arts.

Although a fairly new Edinburgh festival, Ceilidh Culture is now a firm favourite on the world music calendar, with people flocking to the city to be involved. Ceilidh Culture aims to provide a community based focus, getting as many people as possible involved in the festival. It is also used to promote the city traditional arts community building on the foundations of the Edinburgh Folk Festival. It emphasises the wide variety of traditional arts that Edinburgh is home to - not just traditional music, and has something that will appeal to everybody.

The 2007 festival saw 154 performances of dance, music, poetry and storytelling performed by around 30 different organisations and the Ceilidh Culture Edinburgh 2008 festival promises to be even bigger and better!

There is plenty of excellent accommodation avaliable in Edinburgh, but its best to book your Ceilidh Culture Accommodation in advance to avoid any dissapointment!
